Soutien aux étudiants : le district des Montagnes prend en charge la restauration et le transport à l'Université de Man

The Montagnes Autonomous District (Ivory Coast) has announced a significant support measure for students at the Polytechnic University of Man. Effective immediately, and for the remainder of the current academic year, the district will guarantee full coverage of their meals and transportation .

The announcement was made solemnly by the Minister-Governor, Albert Flindé . He declared: "I solemnly announce that, for the entire 2025-2026 academic year, transport will be free for all students [...], as well as meal vouchers."

This program, valued at seven million CFA francs , involves more than 1800 students from the Tonkpi, Guémon and Cavally regions, without any distinction of origin.

Device Details

  1. Catering: Meals will be provided through the distribution of meal vouchers covering a period of 15 days for all students.
  2. Transport: The aid will take the form of fuel support to the Regional Centre for University Services (CROU) in Man, assistance deemed sufficient to cover the needs of the academic year.

Minister-Governor Flindé recalled that this initiative follows a similar successful deployment in 2024 in Abidjan and Korhogo.

Reactions and Perspectives

This action is the result of an approach taken by the United Youth for Development of the Mountain District (JUDOM) with the autonomous district.

  1. Landry Bagné , president of JUDOM, expressed his relief: "For us, the objective has been achieved, it's a huge relief and we can only thank the minister-governor."
  2. Déli Mamadou , president of the CROU (Regional Center for University and School Services) of Man, described this action as "significant," emphasizing that it responds to the call for solidarity issued by the President of the Republic. "This is a great relief for us, who are responsible for the state's social services. We knew how often students struggle with transportation and also with food," he added.

Albert Flindé concluded by announcing that the program will continue in 2026 and will be expanded to other cities in the country. The goal is to reach all students from the three regions of the Mountain District enrolled in public universities in the interior.
