JNA 2026 : La Côte d’Ivoire célèbre son autosuffisance en œufs et appelle à un choc de compétitivité
The 10th National Poultry Days (JNA) concluded this Saturday, April 25, 2026, in Abidjan. While the results show spectacular growth in the sector, industry stakeholders, led by IPRAVI, are now urging the government to eliminate the 9% tax on inputs to consolidate food sovereignty.
In 15 years, Ivorian poultry farming has changed dramatically. The statistics presented to the scientific committee demonstrate remarkable vitality:
Despite these positive indicators, the "Abidjan Declaration" highlights structural weaknesses, notably the high cost of feed and day-old chicks.
Although the government recently reduced the input tax from 18% to 9% , producers consider this effort insufficient. The Ivorian Poultry Interprofessional Association (IPRAVI) is calling for a total exemption to lower production costs, facilitate access to credit, and protect the competitiveness of "Made in Côte d'Ivoire" products against imports.
"The government gives sustained priority to the development of poultry farming, a strategic lever for our sovereignty in animal protein." — Dr. Dagnogo Komissiri , representing Minister Sidi Tiémoko Touré.
This 10th edition also stood out for its international scope, marked by the active participation of a delegation from Benin. For Mr. Yao Kouakou , Vice-President of IPRAVI, the future lies in professionalization and South-South cooperation. Among the ambitions for the future:
The date is set for 2028 : the 11th edition of the JNA must confirm the transformation of the trial, moving from quantitative self-sufficiency to total and sustainable nutritional independence.
