La Côte d'Ivoire accueillera l'exercice multinational de forces spéciales Flintlock en avril 2026
Ivory Coast is preparing to become the epicenter of a major military gathering in April 2026. The country will host special forces from more than twenty nations as part of the annual multinational exercise Flintlock .
This event, of paramount importance, is organized under the direction of U.S. Special Forces and represents the largest annual gathering of the United States Special Operations Command for Africa ( SOCAFRICA ). The information has been confirmed by the U.S. Embassy in Côte d'Ivoire.
Funded by Washington , Exercise Flintlock aims to achieve several strategic objectives:
Elite soldiers from 40 partner countries (including more than 20 African and Western countries) will take part in this multi-day maneuver to consolidate their special operations skills.
This exercise is seen as essential to establishing an effective coordinated regional response , particularly in West Africa , to the expansion of terrorist groups.
For Ivory Coast, the 2026 edition will mark the second consecutive year that it will host Flintlock, following the 2025 edition.
