During the operation, officers from the Trade and Counterfeiting section discovered a complete illegal manufacturing operation. A total of 60 bottles of counterfeit liquor, ready for distribution, were seized, along with labels , caps , and filling and packaging equipment used to imitate well-known brands.
The suspect was brought before a judge , in accordance with the prosecutor's instructions, to allow the investigation to continue and to identify any accomplices. Authorities want to determine the extent of this activity and the distribution networks already involved.
This operation is part of a strengthened national strategy to combat counterfeiting , a phenomenon that poses a major risk to public health and the economy. The Economic Police remind the public that counterfeit alcoholic beverages expose consumers to potentially toxic products.
