Anyama : un drame évité de justesse grâce au sang-froid de la police
A tragedy was narrowly averted Tuesday evening in Anyama , where a family narrowly escaped disaster. Around 10 p.m. , a visibly panicked father alerted the police. At home, his 18-year-old son, who suffers from neurological disorders and has been under medical care for several years, had just suffered another violent seizure.
Out of control, the young man grabs a knife and fork , threatening his own parents. The scene is unbearable. The mother, in tears, watches helplessly as the tension escalates, while the father desperately tries to calm his son. Every second seems to push the situation further into the abyss.
Alerted, police officers from the Anyama station quickly arrived at the scene. Upon entering, they were confronted by an extremely agitated young man, armed and refusing to comply with their orders. The intervention was delicate: the slightest mistake could lead to tragedy.
Displaying remarkable composure , the officers opted for a humane and controlled approach. Without resorting to brutality, they engaged in dialogue, gained time, and observed the young man's reactions. After several tense minutes, they finally managed to disarm and subdue him , without any injuries being reported.
The parents, deeply shocked but safe and sound , thus escaped the worst. The fire brigade was then called to take charge of the young man, who was taken to Adjamé Hospital to receive appropriate care.
That night in Anyama, there were no deaths. Above all, there was a swift, professional, and humane intervention , a reminder that in certain extreme situations, calm, patience, and a sense of duty can save lives.
