Bouaké : deux individus interpellés pour trafic de médicaments à usage toxicomaniaque
The Anti-Drug Unit (CAD) of Bouaké arrested two individuals on Thursday, December 18, 2025 , for illegal possession and sale of drugs for drug use , following an operation carried out during a routine check.
The incident occurred around 10:45 p.m. when a public transport bus was stopped for inspection. During the search of the vehicle, officers noticed several boxes containing fresh chili peppers , the arrangement of which appeared suspicious.
Suspecting concealment, officers from the Anti-Drug Unit conducted a thorough inspection of the packages. This meticulous search led to the discovery of 18,800 Tramadol tablets , in dosages of 250 mg, 225 mg, and 120 mg , carefully hidden within some of the boxes. A woman was immediately arrested at the scene.
The ensuing investigation led the gendarmes to Yamoussoukro , where, in collaboration with members of the local Anti-Drug Unit , the recipient of the package , identified as Mr. YS , was also arrested.
The two suspects have been handed over to the competent judicial authorities for further proceedings. This operation is part of the intensified fight against the trafficking of medications diverted for drug use , a phenomenon with serious consequences for public health and safety.
