The village of Dema , located seven kilometers from Vavoua , was plunged into terror on November 20, 2025. That day, in the middle of the afternoon, a tragedy of extreme violence occurred in the heart of a cocoa field. No one imagined that such a brutal crime could erupt in this peaceful farming hamlet.

It was around 3 p.m. when the plantation owner went to his field, as usual. At the entrance to the cabin, his eyes glazed with horror. His farmhand, KK , lay face down, motionless, in a pool of blood. The scene was unbearable. In shock, the farmer immediately alerted the authorities.

The Daloa Research and Intervention Brigade (BRI) quickly took over the case. For several days, investigators scoured the village, questioning relatives and witnesses, cross-referencing information, and exploring every lead. The investigation progressed with the utmost discretion, but the main suspect seemed to have vanished.

On the night of November 25, 2025 , at around 11:45 p.m. , crucial information reached the police: the suspected murderer, a young man from the village known as GG, alias “Satan,” was hiding… in Dema itself. The information was deemed credible.

Without wasting any time, the commander of the Daloa BRI (Rapid Intervention Brigade) contacted the Vavoua police commissioner . A joint operation was immediately launched. Around 1:04 a.m. , law enforcement moved in. GG was apprehended without resistance, along with a friend, YK , to whom he had allegedly confessed his crime. The two men were taken under guard to the Daloa BRI headquarters .

Facing investigators, the suspect finally broke down. He admitted to fatally attacking KK with a club . According to his own statement, the victim caught him stealing chickens belonging to their employer . Panicked, he then delivered the fatal blows. A petty theft transformed into an irreversible tragedy.

On the instructions of the Public Prosecutor at the Court of First Instance of Daloa , the two suspects were brought before the prosecutor's office to answer for their actions before the courts.

In Dema, shock remains. This murder has left a deep wound in this peaceful community where everyone knows each other. While the arrest of the suspected murderer has brought some relief, the pain and incomprehension are still palpable. With this swift intervention, the Daloa BRI ( Rapid Intervention Brigade) has once again demonstrated its commitment to fighting crime in the Haut-Sassandra region.
