On Sunday afternoon, a man strangled six people for no reason in the city center of Vichy, in Allier.
Seized by a delirious frenzy, he got into his car and drove over his first victim on rue Hubert Colombier. He then got out of his vehicle to strangle him.
The wife of the first victim and a witness immediately intervened, but the attacker again began to squeeze their necks.
He fled by car and attempted suicide by driving into an EDF pole.
A father and his 13-year-old daughter who came to his aid were also strangled by the man. The man eventually fled to an open house, where he further assaulted a young man who was napping.
The suspect, under the influence of drugs, was arrested by the municipal police and taken into custody.
The accused was charged with six attempted murders and imprisoned.
