Le PPA-CI de Laurent Gbagbo annonce une nouvelle manifestation à Abidjan pour le 8 novembre
The African People's Party – Ivory Coast (PPA-CI), the political party of former president Laurent Gbagbo, has decided to organize a new "peaceful march" on Saturday, November 8, 2025. This decision was made during an extraordinary meeting held on Tuesday, October 28, 2025.
This demonstration takes place amidst protests against President Alassane Ouattara's new term. The PPA-CI also intends to protest the violence that occurred before and during the October 25, 2025 election. Furthermore, the party is demanding the release of those arrested during the recent demonstrations.
In a statement signed by Jean Gervais Tchéidé, Deputy Secretary General and Member of Parliament, the PPA-CI calls for a broad mobilization. "We call on all Ivorians who cherish peace, justice, and democracy to take to the streets," the statement urges. The party pledges that this march "for peace, justice, and democracy" will be conducted in strict accordance with the law and will remain peaceful.
Furthermore, the Common Front, comprising the PPA-CI and the PDCI-RDA, has scheduled a joint press conference. It will be held on Wednesday, October 29th at 3:00 PM at the PPA-CI headquarters in Abidjan Cocody. The purpose of this event is to explain the approach of this opposition front and to address the issue of the summons of several party officials by the national police.
