Police in Séguéla dealt a major blow to a drug trafficking network operating in several neighborhoods of the city. The operation took place on Tuesday, December 30, 2025 , between 8:00 and 10:00 AM , following anonymous tips reporting heavy drug trafficking.

The investigation led law enforcement to the Batesti neighborhood , where the first suspect was apprehended. He is identified as DG, 27 years old , nicknamed Mineur . During the search, police discovered half a block of cannabis weighing approximately 500 grams , 17 cannabis pellets , 8 Tramadol tablets , and a packet of OCPV rolling papers , all concealed in a black bag.

When questioned, the suspect admitted to being a drug dealer and user . His statements allowed investigators to quickly trace the supply chain and identify other members of the network.

Four other individuals were arrested in different parts of the city. They are DH, alias Messi (30 years old) in the Haoussabougou district, SL, alias Du (20 years old) in the Soumahorokaha district, FI, alias La Bombe (25 years old) in the Angola district, and TMK (21 years old) in the Djelisso district. All are believed to belong to the same drug trafficking network .

This operation is part of the firm and vigilant approach implemented by the Commissioner, head of the Séguéla police station , since taking office. Several field actions and targeted operations have been carried out to strengthen the security and peace of mind of the population .

The search continues for any other possible accomplices. The five suspects have been brought before a judge to answer for the charges against them.
