De Nouveaux Postes de Péage Annoncés pour 2026 pour Financer l'Entretien Routier

The road infrastructure landscape in Ivory Coast is about to expand. Before the members of the Economic and Financial Affairs Committee (CAEF), the Minister of Equipment and Road Maintenance, Amédé Koffi Kouakou , confirmed on Friday, November 21, 2025, the addition of new bridges and toll plazas starting in 2026.

This strategy aims to strengthen the country's economic model by ensuring better maintenance of national roads , improving traffic flow, and supporting economic growth. These projects are part of a broader effort to position Côte d'Ivoire as a leader in sustainable infrastructure within the sub-region.

🗺️ The Two New Strategic Locations

The minister unveiled the locations of these future facilities, chosen for their importance in economic corridors:

1. The Western Coastal Axis: Mondoukou Crossroads – Assouindé

  1. Location: On the road along the seafront, between Grand Lahou, Fresco, Sassandra and San Pedro, specifically at the Mondoukou – Assouindé crossroads .
  2. Objective: This toll plaza is considered essential for facilitating traffic flow to the western port areas. By levying a toll on this crucial route for carriers and economic operators, the State aims to guarantee the optimization and sustainability of this vital route for economic and tourism activities.

2. The Central-West Corridor: Daloa – Duékoué – Man

  1. Location: On the road linking the center and west of the country, the Daloa – Duékoué – Man axis.
  2. Objective: This corridor is a major route for transporting agricultural products such as cocoa and coffee . With the intensification of trade and population growth, the implementation of a toll will finance the ongoing maintenance of this frequently used road, preventing its rapid deterioration and improving user safety.

📈 A Proven Business Model

The announcement of the new tolls builds on the success of the existing infrastructure. In 2023, the operational toll plazas generated impressive revenues:

  1. Total amount: 32,112,403,977 FCFA in toll revenue.
  2. Performance: This figure represents 98% of forecasts and an increase of 24% compared to the year 2022.

The minister also recalled the contribution of the posts recently put into service or reinforced in 2025, such as Katiola (Bouaké–Katiola axis), Ebouassué (Abengourou–Bondoukou), and the facilities on the N'Douci – Divo – Gagnoa axis (Eticoon–Tollakro and Lakota).

Focus on Performance: The Bassam toll plaza on the Abidjan–Lagos highway has far exceeded its objectives, reaching 122% of its revenue forecasts.

These excellent results demonstrate the effectiveness of the national policy, which considers toll road infrastructure as a pillar of economic competitiveness and sustainable mobility for the future of the country.
