Bocanda : Fin de cavale pour le cultivateur qui terrorisait son village avec un faux pistolet
In Aboutoukro, a small village in the Bocanda department (N'Zi region), there is widespread relief. Kra Kouakou Joachim, a 44-year-old farmer, has finally been arrested by the gendarmerie and brought before the Dimbokro court of first instance. His crime? Keeping his community in terror by using... a wooden weapon.
According to reports from the Ivorian Press Agency (AIP), the man had devised a well-rehearsed scheme to assert his authority and intimidate the villagers. He regularly brandished a fake pistol, carefully carved from wood and concealed under a black bag. The subterfuge worked perfectly: convinced it was a real firearm, the villagers lived under constant pressure.
Exasperated by this climate of insecurity, the villagers, led by the youth president, finally alerted the public prosecutor at the Dimbokro court. He immediately ordered the suspect's arrest.
However, the arrest took time. Fearing reprisals, the residents hesitated for a long time to cooperate with the police or locate the suspect. It was ultimately thanks to the insistence and encouragement of the gendarmerie that the population found the courage to subdue Kra Kouakou Joachim and hand him over to the authorities.
Did you know? It was during routine checks that the police discovered the truth: the formidable weapon was just a carved piece of wood.
Today, calm has returned to Aboutoukro. The villagers are not hiding their immense relief at the end of this saga that disrupted their daily lives for many long weeks.
