Arrestation spectaculaire à Saint-Martin : un sous-traitant américain dérobe 26 milliards de FCFA
A joint operation between the GIGN and the FBI led to the arrest of John Daghita on the night of March 4-5, 2026. This American national, son of a manager of a company specializing in digital asset management, is accused of having embezzled $46 million (approximately 25.9 billion FCFA) belonging to the United States federal government.
The suspect, described as the "prime target," allegedly used his position as a contractor to siphon cryptocurrency seized by the U.S. Marshals Service . During the raid, law enforcement seized a briefcase full of cash, USB drives, and digital wallets. FBI Director Kash Patel praised the exemplary international cooperation in protecting taxpayer funds.
