Chaos en Iran : Un successeur désigné sous le feu des missiles
Ten days after the launch of the US-Israeli offensive and the death of Ali Khamenei , Iran has taken a crucial step for its political survival. The Assembly of Experts announced on Sunday that it had chosen the new Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic, although his identity remains, for the time being, a state secret.
The choice of successor fell on a figure kept secret, while the names of Mojtaba Khamenei (son of the late Guide) and Hassan Khomeini (grandson of Ayatollah Khomeini) circulated insistently.
This appointment comes amid a climate of direct threat:
The offensive is intensifying on the ground. For the first time since the start of the conflict on February 28, Iranian oil infrastructure has been targeted in Isfahan and Tehran . The Israeli army claims responsibility for the destruction of fuel tanks intended, it says, for the war effort.
"We are ready for at least six months of war," the Iranian government insisted, as thick black smoke blanketed the capital.
The conflict no longer knows any borders:
President Massoud Pezeshkian threatened to strike any neighboring country serving as a rear base for US-Israeli aggression. Meanwhile, the death toll continues to rise: Tehran claims 1,200 dead and 10,000 wounded , figures that are still unverifiable.
| Actor | Position / Action |
| UNITED STATES | 3,000 airstrikes; threat to send ground troops to secure the uranium. |
| Israel | 3,400 strikes in one week; objective of destroying ballistic capabilities. |
| China / Russia | Calls for restraint; Wang Yi denounces a return to the "law of the jungle". |
The escalation has caused a historic surge in oil prices, while the Arab League is meeting urgently this Sunday to try to contain the regional fire.
