Ciblé par des attaques racistes, un collectif d'élus LFI saisit la justice et l'ONU
Faced with a surge in insults and threats, five prominent figures from La France Insoumise (LFI) have spoken out. Danièle Obono, Aly Diouara, Carlos Martens Bilongo, Nadège Abomangoli, and Bally Bagayoko filed a complaint this Thursday in Paris to denounce a series of racist attacks of dehumanizing violence.
At the end of March, the parliamentary group received a letter using images taken from the comic book Tintin in the Congo . The content, described as public racist insults , explicitly compares the elected officials to animals and associates them with degrading colonial legends.
Chirinne Ardakani, the plaintiffs' lawyer, denounces a systematic process:
"This recourse to animalization suggests a supposed racial superiority and denies these elected officials their belonging to the national community."
In parallel with the Parisian complaint, a second legal action has been launched in Tarbes. The reason: graffiti discovered on the walls of Bagnères-de-Bigorre , specifically targeting Danièle Obono, Carlos Martens Bilongo, and Bally Bagayoko with the inscription "Remigration." The municipality has also filed a complaint.
This legal offensive comes amid rising tensions. Carlos Martens Bilongo had already been the target of death threats in January, while Bally Bagayoko, the mayor of Saint-Denis, is regularly subjected to media attacks.
Regretting the excessive number of complaints dismissed by the French justice system, the elected officials decided to take a further step:
