Déraillement meurtrier au Mexique : 13 morts et près de 100 blessés
A serious train accident has struck the state of Oaxaca in southern Mexico. A train carrying 250 passengers derailed, killing 13 people and injuring 98 others, according to a report from the Mexican Navy.
The convoy was traveling on the new Interoceanic Corridor, linking Salina Cruz to Coatzacoalcos, a key infrastructure project inaugurated in 2023 to revitalize the southeast of the country. President Claudia Sheinbaum confirmed that the injured are receiving medical care, while an investigation coordinated by the federal prosecutor's office is underway to determine the causes of the accident. This section of the highway was previously the site of a collision with a truck on December 20.
