Accused of having concealed, with his government team, a public debt of approximately 40,000 billion CFA francs, Macky Sall is organizing his response. According to RFI, the former president of Senegal has hired a team of Senegalese and French lawyers, including Kylian Mbappé's counsel.

At the National Assembly, Pastef reignited speculation that Macky Sall could be impeached before the High Court of Justice. After publicly denying these accusations, Macky Sall shifted gears.

The former head of state has indeed launched the response, contacting the French legal team, FTMS. According to their official website, this group "supports its clients in dealing with sensitive disputes (...) with perfect mastery of the economic, social, judicial, and media worlds," with interventions "in France and internationally, particularly in French-speaking Africa, where the firm has a strong reputation and a network of correspondents."

Among the eminent lawyers of the FTMS group is Kylian Mbappé's counsel, Pierre-Olivier Sur. President of the Paris Bar from 2014 to 2015, he has the distinction of knowing Senegal very well, having been the lawyer of Karim Wade before the CREI, then of Mame Mbaye Niang in the defamation case against the current Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko.

For the Senegalese lawyers appointed by Macky Sall, no names have been leaked yet. What is clear is that the lawyers requested a copy of the report from the General Inspectorate of Finance, which was used by the Court of Auditors, and surrounded themselves with financial experts to analyze the reports in question.
