Filmed in Poissy, in the Yvelines department, Renaissance MP Karl Olive was captured climbing onto the hood of a car to dance, surrounded by a crowd of jubilant fans, while several other individuals simultaneously climbed onto the roof of the vehicle. The video, which has already garnered over a million views, immediately ignited a heated controversy and provoked outrage from numerous internet users as well as several opposition politicians.

A flood of criticism from the opposition in response to a "pathetic" example

The reactions from the political class were swift, directly targeting the Macronist representative's behavior. Aymeric Durox, National Rally senator for Seine-et-Marne, strongly criticized this behavior on the X platform, questioning whether this was the kind of example a member of parliament should set, even if he is a fervent supporter of the Parisian club. For his part, Hadrien Clouet, the La France Insoumise MP for Haute-Garonne, condemned Macron's methods, which, according to him, show no respect and present a deplorable image. MEP Marion Maréchal went even further in her vitriol, publicly calling the Yvelines representative a "thug MP" for making a spectacle of himself during the night's festivities.

Contacted about the uproar, the person in question expressed his anger and sought to set the record straight, vigorously denouncing what he called a "petty controversy." The former mayor of Poissy explained that he had simply watched this historic match with family and friends before going out into the street to join in the collective celebrations. He clarified that the driver of the vehicle in question is a personal friend and that he climbed onto the hood with his full permission to celebrate the moment. Regretting that he was being ripped off for a festive gesture that lasted only a few seconds, Karl Olive also lamented that no one had reported that he had, a little further down the road, come to the aid of a young man who had just been hit by a car.
