📰 Scandale chez Shein : La Marque Chinoise Interdit Radicalement les Poupées Sexuelles Suite à un Signalement Français
The online retailer Shein has taken a radical step , announcing on Monday a total ban on sex doll products on its website. This measure comes after the French Directorate General for Competition Policy, Consumer Affairs and Fraud Control (DGCCRF) filed a complaint with the French courts regarding the sale of "child-like sex dolls" on the site.
- Immediate Response: Shein claimed to have removed all ads and visuals of "sex dolls" and expanded its blacklist of keywords to prevent circumvention by third-party sellers.
- Global Scope: These new restrictions apply worldwide , a spokesperson clarified. The company has also temporarily delisted its "adult products" category .
- French Government Response: On Saturday, the DGCCRF (French Directorate General for Competition Policy, Consumer Affairs and Fraud Control) reported the matter to the authorities. Economy Minister Roland Lescure warned on Monday on BFMTV and RMC: "If this behavior is repeated, we will be within our rights, and I will request it, to ban the Shein platform from the French market."
- Taking Responsibility: Donald Tang , executive chairman of Shein, said in a statement: "These were posts from third-party sellers, but I take personal responsibility for them ."
- New Internal Measures: To guarantee the integrity of its marketplace (where third-party sellers market their products), Shein has announced the establishment of a dedicated "unit" .
Furthermore, the Asian giant, which plans to open its Parisian store at BHV, has been summoned within fifteen days by the National Assembly to be heard by the fact-finding mission on controls of products imported into France.
