Sénat américain : un ex-Marine expulsé de force après avoir dénoncé une guerre contre l’Iran « pour Israël »

A particularly tense scene occurred during a hearing of the US Senate Armed Services Subcommittee , when former Marine Brian McGinnis was forcibly removed after interrupting the proceedings to denounce a possible war against Iran.

According to several witnesses present in the room, the veteran stood up in the middle of the hearing to address the political and military leaders. In a loud voice, he declared, "We do not want to fight in a war with Iran for Israel!" , a statement that immediately provoked a reaction from the security agents present in the Senate chamber.

Capitol Police officers quickly intervened to subdue the former soldier and remove him from the hearing room. The scene unfolded in front of senators and the public, creating a tense moment in the room. During the intervention, an altercation occurred between the veteran and security forces, with some media outlets even reporting an arm injury during the removal.

A former sergeant in the United States Marine Corps who served on overseas missions, Brian McGinnis has since become involved in political activism and movements opposed to American military interventions abroad. He has already distinguished himself through several public stances against military operations conducted or planned by the United States in the Middle East.

This incident comes amid persistent geopolitical tensions between the United States and Iran, against a backdrop of political debate in Washington about the possibility of military escalation in the region. Discussions in Congress focus in particular on the limits of the US president's powers regarding military engagement without formal parliamentary approval.

The scene, filmed by several people present in the room, quickly circulated on social media, fueling a heated debate within American public opinion. Caught between the defense of free speech and the need to maintain order within institutions, the incident has reignited the discussion about the role of anti-war movements in the political discourse in the United States.

For their part, Senate officials have not officially commented on the incident immediately, while supporters of the veteran denounce a heavy-handed intervention against a former combatant who came to express his opposition to a new war in the Middle East.
