Un homme perd la vie dans un incendie à Saint-Sauveur
A fatal fire struck the Saint-Sauveur district of Quebec City on Saturday evening. The Quebec City Police Service (SPVQ) confirmed the death of a man following a blaze in a building on St-Mathias Street.
The alarm was raised around 6:42 p.m. by neighbors who saw smoke and flames coming from the second floor. Upon arrival, firefighters found the victim unconscious inside the apartment. Despite resuscitation attempts at the scene and his immediate transport to a hospital, the man was unfortunately pronounced dead at the hospital.
The fire was brought under control around 7:40 p.m., limiting the damage to a single apartment. A joint investigation by the Quebec City Police Service (SPVQ) and the Fire Commissioner's Office is underway to determine the exact cause of the fire.
