Armes de guerre : le procureur d’Abidjan met en garde les partisans du PPA-CI et du PDCI-RDA
The Public Prosecutor at the Abidjan Court of First Instance, Koné Braman Oumar, issued a statement on Monday following investigations into the incidents that occurred on October 11, 2025, during the illegal gatherings organized by the PPA-CI and PDCI-RDA political parties.
According to the press release, investigations revealed that certain individuals, including those claiming to be members of the PPA-CI security service, were in possession of weapons of war. The prosecutor recalled that the illegal possession of this type of weapon constitutes a serious offense, punishable by law.
"The perpetrators of such an offense are liable to a sentence of five (05) to ten (10) years of imprisonment," specifies the text signed by the prosecutor Koné Braman Oumar.
The public prosecutor's office also invites anyone in possession of a weapon without administrative authorization to voluntarily hand it over to the police or gendarmerie units, under penalty of legal proceedings.
Those making this deposit could benefit from mitigating circumstances, the statement said.
This warning from the public prosecutor comes in a political context marked by tensions following the banning of the march planned by the opposition parties.
