Côte d’Ivoire : un faux procureur interpellé, la justice lance un appel à témoins
The Ivorian judicial authorities have arrested an individual posing as a Public Prosecutor , suspected of having defrauded several people in Abidjan.
In an official statement dated Monday, December 22, 2025 , the Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance of Abidjan informs that Konan Léon , also known under the aliases Prosecutor Junior or Konan Koffi , born on July 18, 1975 and of Ivorian nationality, was arrested and then brought before the court .
According to the information contained in the document, the individual presented himself as a business owner while falsely claiming the title and function of Public Prosecutor . This deception allegedly allowed him to defraud several victims, particularly through fraudulent schemes involving cash .
Given the alleged scale of the events, the Public Prosecutor, in accordance with a press release from the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights dated December 8, 2025 , is issuing an appeal for witnesses . Anyone who believes they have been a victim of Konan Léon 's actions is invited to come forward to the Prosecutor's Office to file a complaint or provide information useful to the investigation.
The statement also specifies the telephone number used by the accused, in order to facilitate the identification of any potential victims.
This case once again highlights the dangers of impersonating a public official , a crime severely punished under Ivorian law. Authorities urge citizens to be vigilant and remind them that all official legal proceedings must be conducted through recognized institutional channels.
