Coup de théâtre au tribunal : un prévenu annonce le décès de son accusatrice
The Riviera M'badon land dispute took a surreal turn on Thursday, February 26, 2026. While the trial opposing heiress Olga to a certain DR was supposed to continue, the defendant stunned the audience by claiming that the plaintiff was no longer alive.
Called to the stand, DR remained unfazed: "Olga is dead. She died on September 27, 2025," he declared to a disbelieving courtroom. To support his claims, the man even presented a death certificate to the court.
According to his explanation, the information was given to him by the head of the family. He added that the complainant's parents had also died and that her husband, seriously ill, had gone to Bongouanou for treatment.
This "coincidence" prompted a reaction from the presiding judge, who frankly expressed her doubts:
"She files a complaint against you, and yet you're the one bringing the death certificate to court. That's strange."
Refusing to validate a document whose origin remains to be confirmed, the judge specified that the court would only take this information into account after official authentication by the competent authorities.
The prosecutor's office, wishing to shed full light on this highly unusual situation, has ordered thorough investigations.
