Litige foncier à Abidjan : Un opérateur devant la justice pour 165 millions FCFA

The Economic and Financial Crimes Unit (PPEF) in Abidjan opened a complex case on April 23rd involving a family inheritance and suspected financial misconduct. At the heart of the case is an estimated loss of 165 million CFA francs related to a three-hectare plot of land located in Mbadon.

A legacy at the heart of the turmoil

The case concerns the estate of the late Mrs. Olga Loquet. Her widower, Mr. Ehouman JB, appeared in court despite his poor health to denounce what he considers to be fraudulent management.

According to his testimony, his wife, unfamiliar with administrative procedures, had entrusted the management of her land to her uncle, Mr. Danhi Robert . The latter was responsible for completing the subdivision formalities. As a result, the property was divided into 28 lots , but the fate of the title deeds remained, according to the plaintiff, completely opaque.

Irregularities and a failed transaction

The scheme was uncovered following a failed sale with a third party, Mr. Diakité. He had reportedly paid a deposit of 30 million FCFA out of a total of 70 million FCFA for the purchase of plots of land. The inability to provide the legal property documents brought to light irregularities, leading directly to the implication of the uncle who was managing the property.

Total damages: The magistrates estimate the total financial irregularities in this case at 165 million FCFA.

The operator's defense

Faced with accusations of fraud and land grabbing, Mr. Danhi Robert firmly denies any wrongdoing. He justifies his ownership of 8 of the 28 plots as legitimate compensation for his services in developing and securing the site.

Next legal step

Currently under judicial supervision, the defendant will have to provide tangible evidence to support his defense. The court has adjourned the hearing: it will resume on May 21, 2026, in Abidjan to try to unravel this administrative and family tangle.
