The online media outlet Abidjan.net published an official statement of apology on October 24, 2025, following a technical incident on its platform dedicated to monitoring the results of the Ivorian presidential election.
According to the statement, a malfunction occurred during internal tests, resulting in data being displayed before the vote had even taken place. The site clarified that these were neither official results nor projections , but a purely technical error.
"We would like to sincerely apologize to our readers, partners, and the public at large for the confusion caused by this situation," reads the document signed by the management of Abidjan.net.
Media officials say the issue was quickly identified and corrected. Additional quality control and security measures have been implemented to prevent similar incidents in the future.
Abidjan.net finally reminds that the results publication platform will only be activated after the official proclamation of the results by the Independent Electoral Commission (CEI) .
