SYNAJA-AIP : Aimée Florence Désirée Son prend les rênes du syndicat
Journalist Aimée Florence Désirée Son has been elected the new Secretary General of the National Union of Journalists and Related Staff of the Ivorian Press Agency (SYNAJA-AIP). The election took place on Monday, July 13, 2026, at the institution's headquarters in Plateau (Abidjan).
The elective General Assembly generated considerable enthusiasm with a participation rate of over 97% (79 voters out of 81 registered, with one invalid ballot). Following a close three-way competition, the ballot boxes delivered their verdict:
The new secretary general succeeds Hubert-Armand Assin, who resigned from his position. Her term of office is three years.
As soon as the results were announced, the new leader was keen to commend the democratic maturity of her colleagues and opponents, describing the election as "a victory for unity, dialogue and collective commitment" .
Aware of the challenges ahead, she called for transcending the divisions of the campaign:
"Beyond our differences, we are one family: the AIP family. I will be the general secretary for everyone, without distinction."
