Abidjan : lancement officiel de l’École citoyenne d’engagement politique
The Civic School of Political Engagement (ECEP) was officially launched this Thursday, February 6, 2026 , in Plateau , Abidjan. The ceremony took place in the presence of Sidi Tiemoko Touré , Minister of Animal and Fisheries Resources, the guest of honor at the event.
Led by the ESD Centre , this initiative aims to strengthen democratic culture , promote responsible civic engagement and contribute to the training of a new generation of leaders aware of the challenges of governance, peace and sustainable development .
ECEP aims to provide participants with tools for understanding and action, enabling them to engage constructively in public life. Through modules focused on citizenship, political responsibility, and democratic participation, the school intends to foster informed and reasoned citizen involvement in public debate.
Speaking at the ceremony, the minister praised an initiative he deemed useful for consolidating the foundations of democracy and encouraging the active participation of young people and civil society actors in nation-building.
With the launch of this school, the promoters wish to contribute to the emergence of a political commitment based on the values of dialogue, responsibility and social cohesion , in a context marked by increasing democratic challenges.
