Assemblée nationale : 25 projets de loi au menu de la première session ordinaire 2026

The Speaker of the National Assembly, Patrick Jérôme Achi, officially launched the first ordinary session of the year on Thursday, February 19, 2026, in Abidjan. This session, which will run until June 30, promises to be particularly busy for the 253 members of parliament present.

The legislative program in figures:

25 bills in total.
7 ordinary bills.
7 draft bills authorising the ratification of international conventions.
13 draft laws ratifying ordinances.
2 oral question sessions with debates to strengthen control of government action.

Originally scheduled to address two points, the plenary session ultimately focused on the review and adoption of the parliamentary calendar, following proposals from the Conference of Presidents held the previous day, in accordance with the Institution's internal regulations.
