Côte d’Ivoire : Laurent Gbagbo recadre les cadres sanctionnés du PPA-CI
The president of the Party of African Peoples – Ivory Coast (PPA-CI) , Laurent Gbagbo , spoke to remind everyone of the importance of internal discipline within his political party, following sanctions imposed on certain party officials.
Addressing activists and leaders of the PPA-CI at a recent meeting, the former head of state emphasized the strict adherence to party rules and decisions. " Those who do not respect our regulations will not be able to respect the Constitution ," he declared, thus linking party discipline to the requirement of political responsibility at the national level.
This statement comes amid disciplinary measures taken against officials accused of failing to comply with official party directives, particularly on electoral matters. For the leadership of the PPA-CI, these sanctions aim to preserve internal cohesion and the authority of the governing bodies.
Laurent Gbagbo reiterated that respecting internal rules is, in his view, a prerequisite for any political ambition , emphasizing that a political actor's credibility is first built within their own party. He also called for unity and loyalty, believing that discipline is a key factor in strengthening collective political action.
Through this declaration, the PPA-CI reaffirms its commitment to upholding its statutes and strengthening its internal organization, in the lead-up to the next political deadlines.
