A new player has entered the Ivorian political scene. This Saturday, July 4, 2026, the leaders of the "Credible Alternative" (ACR) movement officially presented their project at a press conference in Grand-Bassam, displaying their desire to embody a "new offer" for the country.

The origins and findings of the ACR

Born on December 1, 2025 from the initiative of citizens from diverse backgrounds (women, men, young people), the ACR wishes to transform political practice in Ivory Coast.

During his speech, Oxyde Tano , the movement's national executive secretary, delivered a frank assessment of the current situation. According to him, despite the country's natural and human resources, Ivorians continue to face major challenges:

1. The high cost of living and social inequalities.
2. Mass unemployment among young people.
3. Failures in public services and social divisions.

A left-wing, human-centered vision

Claiming a left-wing political identity, the ACR places people at the heart of its priorities. Driven by the slogan "Tomorrow is decided today," the party advocates for transparent governance based on dialogue and the common good. Its long-term goal is to build an Ivory Coast that is "just, prosperous, reconciled, democratic, united, and respectful of the rule of law."

The 10 pillars of the political project:

1. Youth employment and entrepreneurship.
2. The overhaul of the education system.
3. Universal access to healthcare.
4. Modernizing the agricultural sector.
5. The safety of property and people.
6. Women's empowerment and advancement.
7. The fight against the high cost of living.

Focus on the political season in August

The ACR aims to be a unifying movement, open to the vital forces of the nation, to workers, economic operators, students as well as the diaspora.

The next major step is already marked on the calendar: the official launch of the movement, scheduled for next August in Cocody . At this event, the president of the ACR, Bamba Abou , will outline the party's main objectives and official program. Until then, the movement plans to engage with the community through awareness campaigns, the establishment of local branches, and national membership drives.
