Décentralisation : Kandia Camara représente la Côte d’Ivoire au Congrès mondial des CGLU au Maroc
The President of the Senate of Ivory Coast, Ms. Kandia Camara, has arrived in Tangier to participate in the prestigious World Congress of United Cities and Local Governments (UCLG), which is being held from June 22 to 26, 2026.
Upon disembarking from the plane, the president of the upper house of the Ivorian Parliament was greeted by a delegation from her institution, including Senator Baflan Laure (wife of Donwahi), Professor Sidibé Valy (president of the committee on general affairs and local authorities), as well as the secretary general of the Senate, Touré Ousmane Samassi.
Considered the world’s largest gathering of local decision-makers, this congress brings together more than 3,000 participants from five continents, including mayors, governors, regional presidents and international partners.

During these five days, delegates will alternate between high-level political sessions, thematic forums and innovation labs focusing on artificial intelligence, climate and decentralized cooperation.

A logical continuation for Ivory Coast This mission is in line with the national actions carried out by the Ivorian Senate, which organized an international symposium in Yamoussoukro in March 2026 dedicated to accelerating decentralization.
By taking an active part in this global summit, Kandia Camara strongly reaffirms Côte d'Ivoire's commitment to inclusive, modern and sustainable territorial governance, while consolidating international cooperation networks for the benefit of local development.
