Hiré : N’Guessan Serges (PDCI-RDA) reprend les rênes de la mairie
The municipality of Hiré turned an important page in its political history this Tuesday, February 17, 2026. Meeting in extraordinary session, the municipal council elected N'Guessan Serges as the new magistrate of the city, thus filling the void left by the death in office of Gilbert Kacou Francis.
The election took place in an atmosphere of democratic competition between the two major political forces in the country. N'Guessan Serges, standard-bearer of the PDCI-RDA , faced the candidate of the RHDP (the ruling party).
The verdict of the ballot box is unequivocal:
This election held major symbolic significance. As a reminder, former mayor Gilbert Francis Kacou was elected in 2018 under the PDCI-RDA banner before joining the RHDP mid-term. With this victory, Henri Konan Bédié's party reclaims a stronghold it considered its own, thus restoring the municipality's original political balance.
The election of N'Guessan Serges marks the beginning of a new era of governance. Beyond the prestige of the position, the new mayor is expected to address priority issues:
The session ended in an atmosphere of mutual respect, with several voices rising to congratulate the new mayor and to commend the exemplary conduct of this election, a guarantee of stability for the region.
