Koffi Olomidé à Ouattara : « Je soutiens votre candidature »
Koffi Olomide, the living legend of Congolese rumba, is fully committed to the Ivorian president's cause. In a video published on the news website Abidjan.net, "Le Grand Mopao," he expressed his full support for the candidacy of Alassane Ouattara, whom he considers a builder of the new Côte d'Ivoire.
“We are Africans, with our problems, our specificities”
"Your Excellency, President Alassane Ouattara, thank you and congratulations for this immense achievement. You have left your mark on Côte d'Ivoire like no one else. You have rebuilt the nation. Ivorians today are proud to say all over the world that they are Ivorians. Your Excellency, I support your candidacy," he said.
For him, when a leader does his job well, he must be kept in his position. "You know, Excellency, the democracy that we copy from Westerners, the number of mandates is limited, but we are Africans, with our problems, our specificities. I think that while being democratic, we should accept and understand that a leader, an authority, remains in his position when he does his job well, when he is competent," declared the famous singer who now considers himself a "lieutenant" of the Ivorian president.
"At any moment, I am ready to come and say very loudly, very strongly: 'let's not make any mistakes, let's continue with Alassane Ouattara'."
