The third legislature of the Fifth Republic will officially open this Friday, January 16, 2026. Following the validation of the legislative election results by the Constitutional Council on January 9, the oldest member, Mamadou Diawara, convened the elected deputies for an inaugural session at the National Assembly Palace in Abidjan.

Starting at 9:00 AM, parliamentarians will meet with a single objective: to elect the institution's next president. Although the vote must be rerun in the constituencies of Toumodi commune, Dualla, and Massala, the democratic process continues for the rest of the national representation.
