Tonkpi : l'honorable Guillaume Gbato recadre Mabri Toikeusse et vole au secours du ministre Vagondo Diomandé
Political tensions are rising in the Tonkpi region. The Honorable Guillaume Gbato recently stepped forward to respond to statements made by the President of the Tonkpi Regional Council, Albert Mabri Toikeusse, while also offering strong support to the Minister of the Interior and Security, Vagondo Diomandé.
In a public statement, the MP made no secret of his irritation with the remarks attributed to Mabri Toikeusse, which allegedly called into question the minister's actions in the region. Guillaume Gbato firmly rejected these accusations, arguing that they did not reflect the reality of the work carried out by Vagondo Diomandé for the stability and development of the country.
According to him, it is unacceptable for the minister to be portrayed as an adversary of the Tonkpi region. The elected official reiterated that Vagondo Diomandé remains a key player in national governance and deserves respect and consideration. In his remarks, Guillaume Gbato also warned against what he called a "pointless controversy" that could undermine social cohesion among the people of western Côte d'Ivoire.
The honorable member, however, did not hesitate to respond on the political front. Reacting to the combative remarks attributed to Mabri Toikeusse, he suggested that his camp was also ready to engage in political debate. "If some say they are ready for political combat, so are we," he declared, in a statement that illustrates the persistent rivalry between certain political leaders in the region.
The MP also addressed the issue of creating a potential new administrative entity in the west of the country, specifically the proposed Nimba region, which has been suggested by some local stakeholders. According to him, this initiative primarily aims to facilitate the administration and development of a territory considered particularly vast.
This latest clash between political figures in Tonkpi reflects the ongoing tensions surrounding leadership and regional development. In a political context already marked by local rivalries, these statements could reignite the debate on the balance of power and governance prospects in this strategic part of Côte d'Ivoire.
