The peaceful town of Man, usually soothed by the cool breezes of the Tonkpi River and the tranquility of its mountains, experienced an event worthy of a crime film on Monday, November 3, 2025. In the Jeune Fille neighborhood, an armed robbery sowed panic in the late afternoon.
Around 6 p.m., an individual armed with a Kalashnikov attacked his victim, making off with loot estimated at 21 million CFA francs . The information, quickly relayed to law enforcement, immediately triggered a response from the Man Research and Intervention Brigade (BRI) .
Under the direction of General Kouyaté, Director General of the National Police , the BRI officers deployed a methodical operation. Going from neighborhood to neighborhood, they gathered testimonies, exploited every clue, and mobilized their network of informants.
Their efforts quickly paid off. Less than 24 hours after the robbery, a suspect, identified as NB, aged 41 , was arrested in the Campus district. The man, who had posed as a simple passerby, did not resist questioning for long. Confronted by investigators, he confessed to his involvement in the robbery and revealed the existence of an accomplice who is currently at large.
The search continues for this second suspect. On the instructions of the Public Prosecutor at the Court of First Instance of Man , the main alleged perpetrator has been brought before the court and will have to answer for his actions.
