The Deux Plateaux neighborhood can finally breathe a sigh of relief. A network of young burglars, specializing in thefts without forced entry, has been dismantled by law enforcement. Their disconcertingly discreet modus operandi allowed them to break into homes in broad daylight without attracting attention.

A surgical procedure

Unlike traditional burglaries, these criminals used neither crowbars nor violence. Homeowners returned to find their "visited" houses without any sign of forced entry on the locks.

1. The target: Exclusively cash (easier to transport and spend).
2. The method: Using keys to enter silently while the occupants were at work.

The offensive in the 12th arrondissement

Faced with a surge in complaints, Commissioner Baba Fofana , head of the 12th arrondissement, deployed increased surveillance. The investigation yielded results in two key stages:

1. Tuesday, January 20: BD (alias Freddy) , 14 years old, was arrested in Adjamé Bromakoté. He was found in possession of a set of 14 door keys , an incriminating piece of evidence for a minor of his age.
2. Wednesday, January 21: Arrest of two accomplices in Adjamé Quartier Rouge, HM (alias Sogotigui) and SA , both aged 16.

A network with multiple ramifications

During their hearings, the three teenagers admitted to the acts. Their activities were not limited to Deux Plateaux: they confessed to operating in Yopougon Maroc as well as in Songon .

"The system was running smoothly until the police decided to lock all the doors."

The suspects were brought before the public prosecutor. The investigation is now continuing to identify any accomplices or receivers involved in this network.
