Le Ministère de la Défense lance un vaste plan de construction de brigades de gendarmerie
The Ivory Coast Ministry of Defence has announced an ambitious project to build 45 new gendarmerie brigades across the country.
This initiative is part of the first Military Programming Law .
The announcement was made by the Minister of State, Minister of Defense, Téné Birahima Ouattara , during the inauguration of the very first of these brigades in Ouéréguékaha (Hambol region) on Saturday, November 8, 2025.
Minister Téné Birahima Ouattara, speaking on behalf of the Armed Forces of Côte d'Ivoire (FACI), expressed his gratitude to President Alassane Ouattara , Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, for authorizing the implementation of this project. The main objective of this expansion is to significantly strengthen the security of the population .
These 45 new infrastructures will complement the country's security network, which currently has 204 gendarmerie brigades across the entire Ivorian territory.
