The Local Sanitation, Hygiene and Hygiene Committees (CLASH) of the municipality of Abobo received significant support in materials and equipment from the company Ecoti SA on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, in order to strengthen their field actions in favor of urban cleanliness.

In total, 345 wheelbarrows, 690 shovels, 690 rakes, 2,070 brooms, 69,000 garbage bags, 3,450 pairs of gloves, and 690 packs of face masks were distributed to the 69 CLASH (Community Action and Social Action Centers) in the municipality. This equipment was accompanied by a financial contribution of five million CFA francs to support their activities.

This initiative is in line with the vision of the President of the Senate and Mayor of Abobo, Kandia Camara, who sees citizen participation as a major lever for the sustainable transformation of the district's neighborhoods.

Composed of women, youth, and community leaders, CLASH plays a vital role in raising awareness among the population about good hygiene practices and environmental protection. Through their community-based initiatives, they contribute to establishing a culture of cleanliness in the various neighborhoods of Abobo.

Praising the commitment of the members of these committees, Kandia Camara paid tribute to their daily dedication.

“I would like to commend the remarkable commitment of the CLASH members who dedicate their time and energy every day to raising awareness among their fellow citizens. You are the ambassadors of cleanliness in our neighborhoods. Thanks to your dedication, the vision of a clean, responsible community that respects its environment is gradually becoming a reality,” she said.

The mayor of Abobo also expressed her gratitude to Ecoti SA for its constant support alongside the municipality and local communities.

“I would like to express my sincere thanks to Ecoti SA for its civic engagement and support for CLASH. This exemplary partnership demonstrates that when institutions, businesses and people work together, we can meet the challenges of sanitation and sustainably improve the living environment of our fellow citizens,” she emphasized.

For Kandia Camara, the issue of sanitation rests on a shared responsibility and requires the ongoing mobilization of all stakeholders. She reiterated that while the operational management of waste falls under the purview of the State through the Ministry of Sanitation and Public Health, raising public awareness remains an essential element for ensuring lasting results.

Through this donation, the municipality of Abobo, Ecoti SA and community stakeholders reaffirm their shared commitment to continue efforts towards a healthier environment for the approximately two million inhabitants of the municipality.

This action also reflects Abobo's ambition to make citizen participation, solidarity, and civic responsibility the pillars of sustainable urban development for the benefit of all its residents .
