Agnibilékrou : pénurie d’eau et factures contestées, la colère des habitants monte
The drinking water situation is becoming increasingly worrying in Agnibilékrou , where several residents are denouncing a persistent shortage despite receiving bills deemed high.
In several parts of the city, taps remain dry for days at a time. In some neighborhoods, particularly Belleville, residents say they have been without running water for nearly two months . In other areas, the supply is irregular, sometimes late at night or only for a few hours a week.
Faced with this situation, many households are turning to alternative solutions to meet their daily needs. Some residents use homemade pumps installed on private property , while others draw water from boreholes belonging to individuals or places of worship .
This situation is fueling a sense of frustration among many users, who question why their bills remain high while the water supply is so irregular. The management of the drinking water network in the city involves, in particular, the Water Distribution Company of Côte d'Ivoire (SODECI) and the National Drinking Water Office (ONEP), which are regularly contacted by local residents.
For now, residents are hoping for a rapid improvement in the situation , as access to drinking water remains a crucial issue for the health and living conditions of the population.
