Bouna : 20 ans de prison pour le chef de gang démasqué dans un kiosque à café

The Bouna Court of First Instance delivered its verdict on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, sentencing Barry Aly, 28, to a 20-year prison term .

The man, who worked as a coffee kiosk manager, was found guilty of conspiracy and armed robbery , marking the end of a case that dates back to June.

The attack: a violent robbery on the Terguidouo–Okilédouo road

The events in question took place on June 21, 2025. On that day, an armed gang intercepted and robbed several road users, mainly motorcyclists, on the Terguidouo–Okilédouo road.

During the attack, one assailant stood out: bearded and wearing a cap, he gave orders and used violence against those who resisted. This detail of his clothing would prove crucial.

Identification and arrest

Four months later, on October 15, 2025, the imposing Barry Aly was working peacefully in his coffee kiosk in Gbadjoudouo, 28 km from Bouna. His distinctive cap immediately caught the attention of customers who turned out to be victims of the June robbery.

Having been formally identified, he was reported to the police, who arrested him without incident.

The investigation confirms his role as leader

The ensuing judicial investigation confirmed that Barry Aly was not only a member of a structured criminal group operating on the roads of Bouna, but that he played an active and violent role in coordinating attacks and intimidating victims.

This heavy sentence, although his accomplices are still being sought, is seen by the authorities as a strong signal aimed at stemming the increase in road attacks and restoring security in the region.
