Cocody : L’Espace « PAPA Assouan » redonne vie à la cité Caféier 5
Sunday, February 15, 2026, will remain etched in the memories of young and old alike in Caféier 5. In a festive atmosphere, Ambassador Éric Taba, President of the "Tous unis pour Cocody" (FTUC) foundation, presented the community with a modern playground. This new space, named "PAPA Assouan," is much more than just a place of entertainment: it is the fulfillment of a heartfelt promise.
A tribute etched in concrete. Representing the Ambassador at the inauguration, Dr. Ehui Louis Bernard recalled that this project stemmed from a commitment made in 2024 to the late Dean Assouan. This local figure had envisioned a healthy environment for the neighborhood's youth. "For Éric Taba, a commitment has meaning," Dr. Ehui emphasized to a delegation from the FTUC and moved residents.
Combating idleness: Beyond swings and slides, this initiative aims to protect young people from the scourges of the street, such as drugs. By providing a safe space, the FTUC hopes to restore the quality of life in Cocody. While residents, through Mr. Konan Saraka Anatole, expressed their immense gratitude, they also took the opportunity to raise other challenges, notably the paving of access roads to the neighborhood.
Despite recent electoral setbacks, Éric Taba confirms here that his social action remains his absolute priority, far beyond politics.
