Côte d’Ivoire : Saisie de 1665 plants de cannabis, deux individus interpellés à Bouna
Bouna, November 8, 2025 – A joint operation conducted by law enforcement resulted in the arrest of two individuals in possession of 1,665 cannabis plants in the Bouna region.
The arrest took place on Wednesday, November 5, 2025 , and was the result of collaboration between the Bouaké branch of the Research Section and the Bondoukou Anti-Drug Unit (CAD). The suspects were apprehended while in possession of this large quantity of narcotics.
The plants came from a large illegal plantation located in the bush, not far from the village of Yaga, located in the department of Nassian.
Alerted to the existence of illegal activity in the area, investigators launched a meticulous search operation . This led to the discovery of the illegal field, carefully concealed in the vegetation.
The two suspects were caught red-handed while they were uprooting cannabis plants.
The two individuals—whose identities have not been released for the purposes of the investigation—were immediately apprehended and transferred to the gendarmerie brigade in Bouna. They were placed in police custody on the instructions of the public prosecutor at the Bouna Court of First Instance, who is now handling the case.
