The Council of Ministers, meeting on November 12, 2025 in Abidjan, took important decisions relating to agriculture, diplomacy and regional infrastructure.

☕ Ratification of the International Coffee Agreement (2022)

Ivory Coast has officially ratified the 2022 International Coffee Agreement, adopted on June 9, 2022 in London.

According to government spokesperson Amadou Coulibaly , this ratification follows authorization granted by Parliament (law of June 11, 2025). This agreement, the eighth of its kind since the creation of the International Coffee Organization, aims to:

1. Strengthen the global coffee sector.
2. To promote the sustainable development of the country in economic, social and environmental terms.

🇧🇿 Establishment of diplomatic relations with Belize

The Council of Ministers has given its approval to Belize's request concerning the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two nations.

Amadou Coulibaly specified that the diplomatic jurisdiction of the Ivorian embassy to the United States of Mexico will be expanded to include Belize . The objective is to extend the national diplomatic network in Central America and the Caribbean.

🛣️ Ratification of the Praia-Dakar-Abidjan Treaty

Finally, the Council adopted a decree ratifying the treaty relating to the creation of the Praia-Dakar-Abidjan transport corridor .

This ratification, authorized by Parliament through the law of June 25, 2025, concerns a large-scale highway project. The project:

1. It is a 3,164 km motorway project with 600 kilometres of maritime connection.
2. It will connect eight countries , from Cape Verde to Ivory Coast, via Senegal.
3. Its purpose is to facilitate traffic flow along the corridor.
4. To stimulate economic development in the signatory states, while ensuring environmental sustainability.
