Drame à Dema (Vavoua) : "Satan" interpellé après un meurtre atroce dans un champ de cacao
The village of Dema , located 7 kilometers from Vavoua, was plunged into terror following the discovery of a bloody murder within a cocoa plantation.
A shocking atmosphere gripped Dema on November 20th . Around 3 p.m., a plantation owner made a gruesome discovery: his laborer, identified by the initials KK , was lying face down in a pool of blood. The brutality of the scene immediately prompted the shocked plantation owner to alert the authorities.
For several days, the Daloa Research and Intervention Brigade (BRI) conducted a meticulous investigation, gathering testimonies and analyzing evidence at the crime scene. While the investigation seemed to have stalled, a new development occurred on the night of November 25th .
At 11:45 p.m., crucial information led investigators to the suspect: GG , infamously known as "Satan," was believed to be hiding in the village. The nickname, heavy with meaning, took on a sinister resonance after the discovery of the tragedy.
The commander of the Daloa BRI (Rapid Intervention Brigade) and the Vavoua Police Commissioner immediately coordinated a nighttime operation. At 1:04 a.m., the intervention led to the arrest of GG in the company of a friend, YK , to whom he allegedly confessed to his crime.
When confronted by investigators, "Satan" confessed, admitting to killing KK with a club. The motive for the crime is shockingly violent and absurd: the victim allegedly caught him stealing chickens belonging to their mutual employer. Overcome with panic and rage, the assailant then inflicted fatal blows.
The two suspects were quickly brought before the prosecutor's office on the instructions of the Public Prosecutor at the Court of First Instance of Daloa.
This senseless crime has left the village of Dema devastated, while the security services have been praised for the speed and efficiency of their investigation.
