On Saturday, January 17, 2026, a surveillance operation in the Yapo-Abbé classified forest led to the arrest of four individuals. They were caught red-handed clearing land, cultivating it, and constructing makeshift dwellings within this protected area.

Led by Second Lieutenant Coulibaly Fonon Amara, Head of the Forest Management Unit (FMU), under the supervision of Captain Koné Zanga (Director of the Agboville Management Center), this mission demonstrates a firm commitment to protecting the forest heritage. The defendants were brought before the Agboville prosecutor's office and will be tried this Thursday, January 22, 2026.
