The insect farming sector has reached a historic milestone in Côte d'Ivoire. On Thursday, December 18, 2025, stakeholders in the industry met in Abidjan for the inaugural general assembly of the National Association of Insect Producers of Côte d'Ivoire (ANPI-CI) .

A new office for a national ambition

This meeting marks the official launch of a sector with strong economic potential. To lead this organization, the members elected a dynamic executive board:

1. President: Milan Augustin
2. Vice-President: Amon Natacha

The Black Soldier Fly: At the heart of the strategy

ANPI-CI is particularly focused on breeding the black soldier fly (BSF) . Its larvae represent a revolutionary solution for:

1. Animal feed: A local and sustainable source of protein.
2. The circular economy: The efficient transformation of organic waste into fertilizer (frass).
3. Social inclusion: A concrete income opportunity for women and young people.

The objective is clear: To move from an informal activity to a structured industry through training, technical support and the sharing of experiences among members.

State support: A guarantee of credibility

Present for the occasion, Ta Bi Djehi Blaise, representative of DOPAF (Directorate of Professional Organizations and Support for Financing), emphasized the importance of this gathering.

1. Official recognition: By structuring itself, the sector is now officially included in the catalogue of the Ministry of Agriculture.
2. Single point of contact: The association becomes the State's preferred partner in expressing the sector's needs.
3. Institutional support: The ministry encourages producers to get in touch with regional and technical directorates (DOPAF, GPA) to benefit from tailored support.
