La ministre Mariatou Koné inaugure un nouveau collège à Zogouiné pour renforcer l'éducation dans le Tonkpi
The town of Zogouiné, located in the Man region (Tonkpi), has benefited from a new school. The Ivorian Minister of National Education and Literacy, Mariatou Koné, inaugurated this school on Monday, October 20, 2025, the ministry announced on its Facebook page this Thursday, October 23, 2025.
This new building strengthens the educational system in the Tonkpi region. The ceremony was attended by numerous dignitaries, including Minister of State Dr. Albert Mabri Toikeusse, who is also President of the Tonkpi Regional Council, as well as administrative officials and traditional leaders.
In her speech, Minister Mariatou Koné reviewed the significant progress made in school infrastructure in the country since 2011. She also took the opportunity to announce the construction of new schools and classrooms in the coming years.
"Our goal is to bring schools closer to the people in order to reduce dropout rates and combat social ills. I congratulate the Tonkpi Regional Council, led by Minister Mabri Toikeusse, for its continued commitment to education," said Mariatou Koné.
The minister also emphasized the need to improve the living conditions of teachers. She urged local authorities to build decent housing to facilitate the settlement of teachers. "The teacher shortage in certain areas can be addressed if we provide them with better living conditions. I invite Tonkpi officials to actively contribute to this," she insisted.
Speaking in turn, Dr. Albert Mabri Toikeusse discussed the Regional Council's efforts to ensure better access to education. "When we arrived, few girls were going to school. We decided to make education a regional priority," he recalled.
The President of the Regional Council then expressed his gratitude to the Minister: "Thank you for the desks and benches and the numerous pieces of equipment provided to the establishments. Please convey to the President of the Republic our gratitude for everything he does for schools in Tonkpi."
