Academic excellence is being exported within Ivory Coast. On the occasion of the Scientific Day of the Institute of Communication Sciences and Techniques (ISTC) Polytechnic, on Saturday, June 20, 2026, the Minister of Communication and government spokesperson, Amadou Coulibaly , officially announced the upcoming opening of a new branch in Bouaké.

Bringing training closer to the population

This deployment in the center of the country marks the first step in an ambitious plan to extend the institution's reach beyond Abidjan.

"I would especially like to commend the development ambitions of the General Directorate, in particular the desire to further extend the reach of ISTC in order to bring academic excellence closer to the population throughout the national territory," the minister emphasized.

The choice of Bouaké is not accidental: it is the second most populated region in the country . The Ivorian government has reiterated its full support for this initiative and hopes for an acceleration of the process so that local youth can quickly benefit from it.

Training the builders of tomorrow

For Amadou Coulibaly, this decentralization will make it possible to train professionals rooted in the realities of their environment, capable of understanding and analyzing its changes.

He used this platform to encourage students to cultivate three key values:

  1. Academic and professional excellence
  2. Innovation in the face of sectoral challenges
  3. Citizen engagement

According to him, these are essential qualities to become the future actors of the modern Ivory Coast promoted by the Head of State, Alassane Ouattara.

A showcase for students' skills

This major announcement was made as part of the presentation of final projects by students in professional Bachelor's and Master's programs.

The event took place in the presence of notable figures, including:

  1. Dr. Eugène Aka , president of the Economic, Social, Environmental and Cultural Council (CESEC) and sponsor of this edition.
  2. Mr. Fausséni Dembélé , Director General of the Ivorian Press Agency (AIP).
